SDC Competition is a design and textile competition that held especially for Undergraduate fashion/textile design student and the competition was opened for students in 13 Countries.The theme for this year was"Making it personal"which told us to create some textile based on our own story or experienced which is interesting.
    So I decided to choose the theme based on my childhood memories which I like to do a photo collage,I like to cut the photos in many different shape and combine it like it was an art.So to deliver that inspiration to my textile I decided to do like a patch fabric to my textile.I combined different types of fabric and make it into something special

I decided to design more casual outfit based on my textile.I drew 3 different design of clothes

On 8 August 2016,My class went for a field trip to Art Science Museum to visit 3 distinctive museum in Marina Bay Sands Singapore.It was an interesting field trip because we got to see a lot of diamonds and ancient things which could become my inspiration in my future collection and experimenting with a new textile.

TR-cutting is a process of cutting and draping fabric in 3d on a dress form.TR-Cutting was created by Shingo Sato who created a lot of unique technic that was interesting.
I was excited about this project because I got to learn something new that I never even know how to do it.For this project I got to experiment several technic.

The first one I tried to create a top using 3d dart manipulation technique.At first I sew the basic dart then  i drew a weird line  going through all the dart point after that I cut the pattern open then I place the pattern and cut on a new fabric.This technic is simple and people can play with a lot of weird line to create an interesting shape.



The second one I tried a box technic which was a little bit confusing.At first I couldn't figure out how this box can be sewn together with the fabric,then I read one of Shingo Sato books which show step by step of the technique.




 This technique may seem simple but I think the are some parts was difficult and need practice to perfect this technique.

The third experiment is making sleeve integration.My sleeve pattern was a little bit simple then I tried to connect the pattern from the to the sleeve to create a connected illusion



The last experiment I was making an origami top.This technique is really interesting because I liked how the pattern connected to each other to create an origami pattern.




 I think I made a mistake when sewing all the pattern together,the pattern supposed to be connected according to the zig zag of the pattern.Because I never done this technique before I pleat all the pattern and sew them together which was wrong.I realised my mistake after saw my friends work which I think will help me to improve.

 After finishing all the experiment I decided to make the actual garment that i design and tried to apply the technique that I learnt.I decided to make dress using an origami technique.





 I was quite satisfied with the result of my dress.I like how the origami drape nicely like the way i want which I was really happy.So I decided to try the dress which fit really well on my body

Subtraction cutting is a really fun method of making dress into something new and different.I actually never heard of this method before but now I'm really interested in how to produce a unique piece of garment through this technic.So I was doing 3 experiment for past few weeks about subtraction cutting.

Zero waste is a method that require every designer to think how to not waste any fabric but also create something new.I personally think this technic was a little bit confusing and difficult.Before I experiment this method I faced up some difficulties about how to solve this problem.This experiment I decided to create top and skirt.

My first project in my degree term is about deconstructing and reconstructing shirt. In this project we are not only rebuild a new design from a shirt but also we have to make several shirt with both different size and gender.
We were divided into 5 groups of 4, each group got to choose a pop up theme artist. My group chose John Jasper's artist as our main inspiration. Then we randomly chose what size and gender we should make. I got to rebuild a new design for a guy who wears an XL size. I'm so elated that my design was chosen to join a pop art theme competition.
