Hongkong Sourcing Fabric Trip -Part 1

On 12 February 2017, we went to Hong kong by using Singapore Airlines ,The flight is in the morning around 8.25 am and we arrived in Hong kong around 12 o’clock.After picking up our luggage we finally board to the bus that brought us to the hotel in Tsim Tsa Tshui. The first day in hong kong was nice because it was basically our free time before sourcing our fabric on the next day so we went to eat dim sum and strolling around the city.The weather itself was a little bit cold because it hit around 17 degree and I can feel the wind that whooshing around and I prefer cold weather than hot weather.
The next day,We started our first sourcing fabric trip which was located in Sham Sui Po area.All of us have to meet up on the lobby of the hotel at 9.am in the morning and then walked together to Sham Sui Po.The weather is around 18 and it is a little cold which is nice.Basically,The teacher brought us to the area of Sham Sui Po and let us know which shop sold fabric, trimmings etc.We also went to Fabric Market ,it sell many fabrics leftover from designer and the place is a little bit dirty and have a small space for people to move around and Our teacher also mention after touching fabric from this area we shouldn't touch our own face because it can cause any break outs or allergy.Sham Sui Po is a place that sell a lot of fabric ,trimmings, sewing equipment etc and There are a lot of fabric shop that provide fabric sample so we can take it and order it if we like the fabric.The teachers basically let us familiar with this area before letting us source fabric by ourselves so we can remember the place in easy and simple way

So the first day basically I collect fabric sample that I think suitable for my collection on every fabric shop in Sham Sui Po area,I collect a diverse range of fabric sample from wool base material, chiffon, satin to tulle and many more.I can say that I almost collect more than 20 fabric sample on the first day itself, and I’m still not feeling satisfied with the result, after 5 o’clock we went to leather shop near our hotel and I find some leather that I can use for my collection so I asked for the sample from the auntie, then we went back to the hotel and had dinner neared Tsim Tsa Tshui area. At night I arranged all my fabric sample and choose which one I’m gonna use for my collection and decide on the colour and fabric on each look because on the next day we have to confirm our fabric to the teachers.I spent more than 2 hours just to choose and arrange which fabric I’m gonna use for every looks.
The second day was our time to confirm our fabric with teacher so we can quickly buy it or order it.
